Agency Decision Maker
I am a qualified social worker who has worked within a variety of childcare settings for over 40 years. Initially I worked for the local authority as a residential social worker working directly with young people from 0 to 18 years old in various establishments.
I then moved into social work with children and families and in child protection where I experienced working alongside families to minimise risk to a child/children within their home. This role included extensive court work. My journey in the independent sector began over 20 years ago when I was asked to set up an independent fostering agency in Sussex.
I remained with this company commencing as a senior practitioner and then becoming area manager, registered manager, ADM and the Responsible individual. I joined the Polaris group 8 Years ago as a Registered manager and with my team was rated Outstanding during our Ofsted Inspection. My most recent role was as the Responsible Individual for this fostering service within the group.
In 2018 I had the honour of becoming an adoptive grandparent to a sibling group of three, (adopted by my daughter and son-in-law), so I am now the proud grandmother of 7 beautiful grandchildren ranging from 6 to 17 years old.
